2 Baby Boy Quilts

It's been a while. I have been busy keeping up with lots of custom orders and thought I would post a couple of baby quilts I finished.
I have always loved the All Star fabric from Riley Blake and since it's been in my stash I thought my Etsy shop could use a couple of boy quilts.

Another favorite line from Michael Miller Sarah Jane fabric line children at play with some castle peeps fabric by Lizzy House.
 The Back.
You can find these two quilts in my Etsy shop on the side of my blog.
Thanks for stopping by.

Spoonflower Buses

Well it's Friday again already and the time has been flying by. I have had a busy week of boutique prep, swimming, and soccer. I started off with the green camper van fabric from spoonflower and used the colors to coordinate the rest of the fabrics.

My little shorty just had to have a photo with the quilt like her brother.

For the back I used a Denyse Schmidt print from Joann's. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I will be back next week to share my goodies for the boutique.

Road trip 2

I am calling this one road trip 2 since this is my second attempt at this pattern.
If your not familiar with this pattern it's free and you can find it here.
The pattern is fast and easy and fun. You could easily make it in a larger size or a girl version as well.
 A peak at the back.
Thank you for stopping by! I am linking up over at finish it up Friday.

Pinterest Inspriation

"Wild Dream" Helen Dardik poster.
As I was browsing through pinterest this pin caught my eye. I got to thinking that I would love this color combo in a quilt.

Pow wow pattern + color combo collide and here is my result.

It is hard to tell from this picture but I used several different tone on tone white and cream fabrics in the background.

I almost didn't take pictures of this today because of the drab weather outside. I just didn't want to wait that long to blog again.
I am linking up over at here.

Transportation Quilt

When I start a quilt I usually find fabrics I like together and then figure out my backing later. This quilt went in the reverse. I had this cute transportation flannel but I didn't have any ideas.
I decided to go with half square triangles in solids.
It turned out to be perfect for a little boy.
I think I will try using up some of my other fabrics this way as well. I am linking up over at here.

Patchwork

I have had a great summer so far with lots of fun and sewing.  When my scraps get out of control I  usually cut them up into 5 inch squares. They are perfect  for future projects like this quilt. I definitely recommend it for times when you need to make a quilt quickly.
I also took the opportunity to practice the orange peel quilting method. Mine are more like butterflies because they are all very unique and not uniform.
Feeling Groovy flannel stripe for the back.
 Thanks for stopping in.

Camper Van Quilt

I have some old school Heather Ross that I haven't dare cut into but then again it can't just sit on a shelf. I thought I would hold on to the fabric because my husband has always loved and wanted a camper van.
I found this darling print for the back at Joann's in the Denyse Schmidt Quilting cottons.
One of my favorite Erin McMorris weekend prints for the binding.
I enjoyed making a strip quilt again because it's been a while. I have many more projects I can't wait to show you. I have also listed this quilt in the shop.

Chevron 2

After posting pictures of the blue and red chevron quilt on Instagram this blanket came about. Marie isn't finding out her babies gender and needed something that could be used for either one. I love the colors she picked.
Moda punctuation print for the back.
I love the simple lines of quilting to go with the pattern.

If you want to follow me over on Instagram I am Craftinmechanic. Hope you all have a great weeekend! I will be linking up over at crazymomquilts.

Chevron Baby

Custom quilt for a baby that will be here in a few months. I haven't used solids in an entire quilt for a while but is a good change. I had a great time making this quilt and using my machine which I love.
 The back.
Basic stitching to outline the rows.
I sent it off to the owner this morning. I will be back soon to show you what I have been up to.

Summer Brights

January is such a drab month. Summer has been on my mind since we have had horrible weather. From thoughts of sunshine I put together this bright bold color palette.
I used this pattern and added a border to make it a little bigger.
I think this will make some little girl very happy.

For the back I used a feel'in groovy flannel and used a solid pink for the binding. What is your favorite solid fabric that you use? I am a Kona fan but I would love to hear what other people use.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Strips

Time is going so fast and with 2012 ending I am trying to get all of those unfinished quilts done before the new year. First on my list was this strip baby quilt.
I used some of my favorite Heather Ross prints.
I have actually been meaning to post this quilt because it was my first sale in my Etsy shop. (Woot!) It is already at its new home and waiting for the new arrival.

Baby Pow Wow

I have wanted to try this pattern in baby size for a while. After this quilt I was burned out. It was time to give it another try on a smaller scale. I decided on a grey for the solid fabric because babies and white don't always stay looking good.

Is anyone else feeling like it can't be November already? Hope you have a great weekend! I will be linking up over here

Sparkle Punch Stars

I finally finished up this quilt top. The center of stars is 2.5 inch squares. For my blue solid I used Kona's Essex linen in medium aqua. It was nice to use linen for a change it reminded me of my Grandma's quilts.
This quilt  was my inspiration for the stars. I would love to make a lap size in Christmas fabrics.
On the back a stripe flannel from Riley Blake.
I will be linking up over at Crazymomquilts.com for finish it up Friday. Hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by.
