Finish Friday

This is one of my quilts from last year that I needed to finish up it just needed quilting and binding. I used this pattern. Since spring of last year I have wanted to try this pattern in scrappy and I am really glad I did. It is really such a great pattern either way. 

 I used a Riley Blake summer song flannel on the back. 

 The quilting is fun just on the solids.

 For the binding I used Aneela Hoey's sew stitchy pins in blue.

 I am making progress on the Birthday bags. This one has been spoken for by my little girl.

Birthdays

 A couple of years ago I made pillow cases for each one of my nieces and nephews, there are over 20 of them in all. Last year I didn't make anything because it is hard to find something universal for kids ranging from 1-19 yrs old. I decided to use Jeni's everything bag from in color order.

 I figure they can put anything like makeup,toys,I pods,etc. I have over half of them cut out and ready to sew. The best part is that I can do it all ahead.

Cassette tape?

 I was looking  for something to go with this cassette tape fabric the other day and my oldest was trying to be helpful (trying to get me to hurry up) and asked me what fabric was it? I replied the one with cassette tapes. He then said with a puzzled look on his face,what's a cassette tape? I then remembered how old school I am.
It made me feel like my parents and when they would say 8 tracks. This is for the only other person that loves music as much as my husband.

April Birthdays

My two nieces Maddie and Kenzie have their birthdays in April. Maddie's is the first pillowcase with the Eiffel towers, and Kenzie the cheerleaders. Happy Birthday girls! I have so many fun memories of summers with the girls and now they are such great young women.
