Minecraft Quilts

Both of these quilts were inspired by the popular game mine craft. My nephew is moving into his new house and was ready for a newly decorated room. This is going to be his new bedspread.
Before I sent it home with them I tried it out on my daughters bed to make sure it fit.
Second quilt was for another mine craft lover. The creeper face. I had such a great time making these pixelated quilts and now I have a son who wants one of his own.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Lately

For those of you who already follow me on instagram I apologize in advance for the repeat of pictures.
 Eiffel Tower journal
This motorcycle was a fun change to add to a journal.
I made these colored pencil rolls for upcoming boutiques. My daughter who is 3 loves hers. She always knows if she is missing one.

 More Camera Straps made.

I played with some applique on tea towels.
For quilt group I made this dutch pinwheel block.
And last but not least a paper pieced ski boot for our second quilt group block. Now that my kids are back in school I hope to get a little more done.

Birthdays

A couple of years ago I made pillow cases for each one of my nieces and nephews, there are over 20 of them in all. Last year I didn't make anything because it is hard to find something universal for kids ranging from 1-19 yrs old. I decided to use Jeni's everything bag from in color order.
I figure they can put anything like makeup, toys,I pods, etc. I have over half of them cut out and ready to sew. The best part is that I can do it all ahead.
Have a great weekend!

Seaside

I just couldn't resist this fabric. Seaside by Riley Blake. I love the vintage vibe. I thought it would be darling in a chevron pattern. It was a nice change from my latest projects.

I didn't think I had anything in my stash to go with this line but I had some bijoux in yellow that made a great combo.

After I had cut my fat quarters in 5 inch squares for this quilt I had a little extra of each piece for Rachel's journal cover tutorial. The tutorial is to fit right over a composition note book. lots more to come. I have been sewing like mad.

Back to School

We made it through the first week at a new school and the boys have already made some really great friends.
Here is our new house with a dirt lawn. We are looking forward to making an amazing yard in the spring time.
It was fun to put together my little girls room with a big girl bed and the on a whim quilt I made.
Some princess and the pea fabric for a little quilt to accessorize in her room.
Since the boys are gone at school we have been organizing unpacking and had mom and daughter time most of the day. Thanks for stopping by!

Woofum

Ever heard of a woofum?  I have heard them called doughies too. A woofum is a dessert made over a fire using a biscuit, filled with what ever lovelies you like. They don't sell woofum sticks just anywhere, so we made our own.
                                  Whip cream for topping.
Use what ever variety biscuit or croissant you like to cook over the fire.
I used a steel rod you can also use a aluminum rod for the center. 1 1/8 inch dowel to make the handle ( 4 inch length is perfect) and the roasting end 2 inches.
Soak the roasting end in vegetable oil for 24 hours, this will prevent the dough from sticking. After the dough is cooked it forms a convenient cup for pie filling and whip cream.
Tip: If you Spread the dough thin and it will cook faster, and over the coals is best.

Baby Girl Bucket

Happy Easter! I did manage to finish one more bucket. This one is for Maggie. I started making one for Soren and he said " I don't need a bucket I have my spider man one, now you can come play video games with me!" love his funny personality. Hope you all have a wonderful day celebrating with great friends and family.

Lego Bucket

I had some lego fabric left over and had a bucket pattern I had been eyeing. I was hoping it could be a good Easter bucket for egg hunting. I think it is a little to tall so I will attempt to make it half the size. I will have a update soon, the kids are off for spring break and maybe I can get the buckets done then.

Felt Sandwich Anyone?

I found this great pattern from Simply Handmade magazine last year. It was a simple and easy project for me and something extra special for the kids. Soren has no problem playing with his food!
